Injectables

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides use purified DNA and RNA fragments from salmon, close enough in structure to human DNA that your body treats them as its own and puts them to work repairing tissue, rather than hydrating like a skin booster. We state the salmon origin plainly because it is a genuine safety point, so if you have a fish or seafood allergy, this treatment is not right for you.

Your practitioner places small, area-specific injections, whether that is your face, neck, under-eyes, lips or hands, which takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area. Mild swelling or tenderness for 24 to 48 hours afterwards is normal.

Results and Suitability

Most clients need a course of 2 to 3 sessions, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. Texture improves progressively over the following weeks, with results continuing to build for up to 3 months as repair continues.

Polynucleotides are not suitable if you have a fish or seafood allergy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, or take blood-thinning medication. If you are weighing this up against Profhilo, book a consultation and we will help you work out which fits your skin best.

Where You’ll Be Treated

Polynucleotide treatments take place in a private room at each of our clinics. We keep sessions unhurried, talking you through your consultation and what to expect before we begin, and there is no expectation to commit to a full course until you understand what is involved.

FAQs

Am I suitable for this treatment?
Polynucleotides are not suitable if you have a fish or seafood allergy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, or take blood-thinning medication. This is not a complete list, so we will go through your medical history thoroughly at your consultation before recommending any treatment.
Can I return to work?
Yes, same day. Mild swelling is possible, so some people prefer to book a few days ahead of an event.
When can I go to the gym?
Wait 24 to 48 hours before intense exercise.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients need 2 to 3 sessions, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart.
How long do results last?
Results typically last several months, building further with repeat courses.
How much does it cost?
Polynucleotide treatment is priced by area: Hands from £150, Lips from £180, and Face, Neck or Under Eyes from £200, each around an hour. Consultation fees vary by clinic, so ask when you book, and it is deducted from your first session if you go ahead.

Treatment Information

The Team

Our practitioners are trained in polynucleotide treatment at every clinic, and every session is covered by our clinic’s treatment insurance. We do not start a treatment until we are confident it is the right fit for you, which is why every course begins with a thorough consultation.

Consultation

Every polynucleotide treatment starts with a consultation, where we look at your skin, talk through your medical history, including any allergies, and confirm polynucleotides are the right choice for what you want to achieve. If you go ahead with treatment on the day, the consultation fee is deducted from your first session.
